Adult Acute Mental Health Unit at UHG

Fallon Consulting Engineers were commissioned to provide Assigned Certifier Services on behalf of the Health Service Executive on the Adult Acute Mental Health Unit (AAMHU) project in University Hospital Galway.

These Services as required under the Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014, SI No.9 of 2014 and the associated Code of Practice. The new €15M D&B development consists of a 50 Bed AAMHU Unit at University Hospital Galway.

The AAMHU structure was constructed with BAM acting as main contractor. The project consisted of a two-storey load bearing precast building with precast floor and concrete roof slab structures supported on a cast insitu reinforced concrete slab structure supported on CFA piles.

The building works commenced in 2015 with works completed in 2017.
